Session 8-    "Just for Epidemiologists" and other Disease Control Personnel

This exercise is designed to challenge the disease detectives in your public health department or health care facility.   The scenario unfolds as a series of patient histories and laboratory clues that must be effectively linked to determine the onset and spread on an epidemic.   The data will suggest differing courses of action at different stages of the response.   Participants will need to investigate"hot" cases, establish disease surveillance, confirm the diagnosis and translate infection control information into public health action.
