"Awardees shall submit all AARs, plans, and corrective actions that are developed for the exercises. "- SES will provide all required tracking of exercises and opportunities for improvement and results of performance assessments including best practices and lessons learned.

• Mass Fatality Management - Page 13

"Awardees must ensure that facility level fatality management plans are integrated into local, jurisdictional, and state plans for disposition of the deceased"- SES provides Mass Fatality training and exercises which address key issues related to planning and implementing responses to mass fatality disasters such as the physical and emotional well-being of survivors and responders, protection of public health, systematic methods of managing a mass fatalities incident, and roles and responsibilities of responders.

• Medical Evacuations/Shelters in Place(SIP) - Page 13

"Awardees may consider conducting tabletop or feasibly scaled exercises around evacuation to highlight vulnerabilities and solutions" - SES provides a unique way to conduct evacuation exercises and testing through Simulated Patient (Si mPat) Evacuation Exercises.   This service set assesses organizational processes and capabilities associated with patient movement, organizational competency, patient and information processing and flow within a healthcare organization when a disaster or emergency has degraded the organizational infrastructure necessitating full or partial evacuation.

• Alternate Care Sites(ACS) - Page 16

"Awardees should be developing and improving their ACS plans as an option for providing disaster and mass casualty medical care in the event that hospitals are overrun or rendered unusable by a disaster"- SES exercise scenarios address the need for alternate care site planning and pre-designation of Alternate Care Sites and tests how these sites would be utilized with staffing and resource plans in place.

-Numerator : The number of State/Territories that conducts statewide and regional exercises that incorporate NIMS concepts and principles and include hospitals during the current project period.

- Denominator : The number of statewide and regional exercises conducted during the current project period.

 - ASPR FY08 Targets (Measure S5.1.):

Mid-Year:        50% of Awardees conduct statewide and regional exercises that incorporate NIMS concepts and principles and include hospitals during the current project period.
