George B. Beranek, M.D., MBA
Dr. Beranek serves as an Emergency Physician, EMS Region 1 POD Disaster Medical Director and Director of Medical Education at Rockford Health System, a 396-bed, Level 1 Trauma Center in Rockford, Illinois. He has been actively involved the Illinois Medical Emergency Response Team (IMERT), The Winnebago County Sheriff's Department Emergency Response Team (SERT), the Illinois Urban Search and Rescue Team and serves as Medical Director for the Region 1 Regional Emergency Response Team (ReMERT) as well as dosimetry officer for the Winnebago County ESDA. |

In addition, Dr. Beranek has served in numerous leadership roles of various professional organizations at the local, regional, state and national levels. Dr. Beranek is a committed educator and has been actively involved in education with community organizations, EMS providers, medical students, Residents and in Continuing Medical Education for physicians exhibiting a philosophy that education should be fun at all levels. In the business arena, Dr. Beranek has had numerous roles in quality improvement, training and development, JCAHO Surveyor in the ambulatory and network programs, and as a consultant. Dr. Beranek diversity of experiences enhances our ability to be on the cutting edge of professional development, training and preparedness. Dr. Beranek is the Vice-president for operations for SES. His role includes oversight in company- client interface. He ensures that the hospital, health department or regional network of responding organizations have their needs met with the Desktop exercises. He also is involved in research and development activities and directs the Desktop drill compliance function. He serves as a scenario designer and drill facilitator. |
